I use UK English but am able to adopt a more international style, when appropriate, to suit other target markets.

As a lawyer, I am well-versed in comparative legal research and especially on how to use clear legal terminology that will not only be understood by the target audience, but that will not detract in any way from its often unique meaning in the source legal system.

When translating texts from civil law systems for use in common law systems, this is an absolute must.

Quality Assurance

I am constantly aware translators are only as good as their last translation -- that quality and not quantity is what counts in the long term and secures repeat business.

I only accept translations within my areas of expertise and that have lead-times allowing for proper research and revision.

I use Trados (translation memory software) for certain projects, especially those with significant repetitions, in order to ensure consistency and assist with those last-minute updates that are so common in legal texts.

In the unlikely event you feel further revision is needed after delivery, this will be discussed. Where appropriate and due to any shortcomings on my side, additional revision will be completed free of charge as a matter of priority.
